No, this very special, historical foodblog and my YT channel have not fallen asleep again. Making a living just happens and takes time and energy. In the background, I continue to experiment with medieval recipes and also got to film one or two videos. 🙂
Recently, however, I stumbled across the account of the Friends of LEIZA (Leibniz-Zentrums fĂĽr Archäologie / Leibniz Center for Archeology) and their spring lecture series on Bluesky. Last week I was able to attend the lecture on the restoration of the Byzantine Preslav treasure from Bulgaria – a publication on this has been on my wish list for years.

Why am I sharing this with you? The good news: The series is hybrid and you don’t have to be there, you can register via e-mail and receive a Zoom link to watch. Questions can also be asked via chat, which will be presented afterwards.
The bad news: I’ve already missed a lot and there are only two lectures left, the next one is on June 20th. at 6:15 p.m. (CEST) and deals with the chamber tomb of Poprad-Matejovce in Slovakia. So hop! Hurry up and keep gathering knowledge.
Note: The lectures are in German.
